Are you aged 16-21, living in Govan, and passionate about photography? Do you want to learn photographic techniques while documenting the rapidly changing riverside neighbourhood of Govan, alongside others in your community?

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the Govan Camera Club for young people—a unique opportunity to build confidence behind the lens and contribute to a collective photographic project, with the potential for local publication.

• Be part of a tradition of Glasgow’s camera clubs that have documented the city’s history.
• Learn, share, and create with fellow photography enthusiasts.
• Access to free equipment and resources to support your photography journey.
• Guided by experienced visual artist and photographer Eleni Wittbrodt @wttbrdt , with support from 16NSt Collective.
• Special sessions with the CCA Seed Library and other activities to train you in the skills of observation, riverside ecologies and the urban environment.
• Possibility to print your work in a joint publication/art bundle

Practical Information:

• Free of charge
• Weekly Meetings: Saturdays, 2.15pm – 4.15pm
• Dates: 31st Aug, 7th Sept, 14th Sept, 21st Sept, 27th Sept (Fri), 28th Sept
• Location: Govan (base at Elder Park Library)
• Age Group: 16 to 21 years
• Group Size: Max 8 people
• Cameras Available: We have seven cameras available on request (provided by Portal Arts and Wittbrodt).
