Jac Common is a writer from Nottingham, currently living on water. They have a PhD in evolutionary microbiology from the University of Exeter. Their academic, critical, and poetic work is out in several places. Their debut poetry pamphlet, Wetbulb, was published by Osmosis Press in 2024. Together with researcher Katy Lewis Hood, they are developing the ‘Coneffluents’ project, a hybrid work attending to queer, anticolonial, and nonhuman lifeways in wet-land ecologies and infrastructures through poetry, essays, and image-making.
Jac will be exhibiting in the group show ‘River is/as’ within ‘Coneffluents‘, curated by 16 Collective in collaboration with FieldARTS, as part of Glasgow International Festival 2026.
For FieldARTS, their project asks how we might dissolve the planetary geometries of capitalism’s force with bathymetric micro-logics and bacterial molecularity.
