Maria Howard is a British-Italian artist and writer based in Glasgow. She is a current PhD candidate at the Glasgow School of Art.

Maria will be exhibiting in the group show ‘River is/as’ curated by 16 Collective in collaboration with FieldARTS, which is part of Glasgow International Festival 2026.

Her practice-based research explores the legacy of colonialism in the climate crisis, she focused during her time at FieldARTS on the column as both a natural and architectural form, through site writing and sculpture. She is a co-editor of Nothing Personal magazine.
