Film screening and publication launch
The Harpy is a new expanded performance work by Eden Dodd, bridging sculpture, queer monodrama, and moving image. This valentine’s day event marks the completion of the project, celebrating it with a film screening and the launch of a dedicated publication.
The work reanimates the Harpy — part woman, part bird, part enby, part man — summoning her to trouble, to gnaw at contemporary myths surrounding queer and trans identities.
In Dodd’s words:
“My aim is to interrogate how Harpies are depicted — as both winged women and monstrous female-bird hybrids — and to connect these representations of otherness to contemporary transfeminine narratives.”
The Harpy has been developed collaboratively with a number of beloved artists from Glasgow’s queer scene.
More to be announced.
