Performance

The Harpy is a new expanded performance work by Eden Dodd, bridging sculpture and queer monodrama.

Narrated, performed, and choreographed by Dodd, the piece reanimates the Harpy — part woman, part bird, part enby, part man — summoning her to trouble, to gnaw at contemporary myths surrounding queer and trans identities.

In Dodd’s words:
“My aim is to interrogate how Harpies are depicted — as both winged women and monstrous female-bird hybrids — and to connect these representations of otherness to contemporary transfeminine narratives.”

The Harpy is being developed in collaboration with a number of beloved artists from Glasgow’s queer scene.

More to be announced.
