16 Collective is delighted to host artists Kate Holford and Pippa Thomas for a Creative Lab residency period, working towards their upcoming exhibition as part of our 2026 programme. During this process-led residency, the artists will develop a new body of work considering gender and ecological collapse, supported through studio time, curatorial guidance and dialogue with 16 Collective.

Both artists will be supported to expand works on paper and canvas into sculptural pieces which experiment with materiality and the concept of aberration, and will converse in the gallery space at 173 Trongate.

This residency and the upcoming exhibition were selected from our Winter Solo Exhibitions Open Call, dedicated to supporting emerging LGBTQIA+, and gender and class-marginalised artists. The Creative Lab is central to 16 Collective’s model, functioning as a laboratory for artistic and curatorial experimentation. It offers time and space for situated research, community engagement, practice development, and reflection before public presentation, and is designed collaboratively with participating artists.
